Review of Contexts and Structures for ESD 2009 (UNDESD)

The United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD, 2005-2014) has reached its mid-point. A mid-Decade review was conducted to take stock of what has been accomplished during the first five years of the DESD.

HOW Sustainability Education Solutions Summit Report - June 2009

At the 2007 event titled “Why Sustainability Education”,participants from post-secondary, K-12 and other public sector organizations developed the 10 Principles of Sustainability Education. These principles provided a guide for educators and learners on what sustainability education should look like in practice.

Bonn Conference Report

David VJ Bell PhD, Chair of LSF, co-Chair of ESD Canada and EASO, attended the UNESCO conference, held March 31-April 2 at site of the former Bundestag buildings (from time when Bonn was capital of West Germany). Over 700 participants from 150 countries were present. This was a UNESCO ‘’category IV’’ conference (experts meeting.
