Earth Hour Every Hour

Earth Hour is more than just switching off lights for one hour, once a year. It's about giving people a voice for the future of our planet and in such is the centre of a growing movement. March 16th 2011, marked the second annual York University Earth Hour event.

"Lessons Learned from the Sustainability Networks' Environment and Diversity Project" - Sonia Dong, Diversity Project Manager and project representatives.

EASO joined up with the Institute for Research and Innovation inSustainability (IRIS) and LSF (Learning for a Sustainable Future) to launch a Speaker Series. The most recent of these took place on Tuesday February 8th, 2011 from at York University, with Guest Speaker, Sonia Dong.

Environmental and Sustainability Education for all Citizens: Are We Making Progress?

On Tuesday January 11th, 2011, EEON, Environmental Education Ontario, hosted an Environmental and Sustainability Panel Presentation and Discussion featuring: Roy Ballentine (Halton District School Board), David Bell (Learning for a Sustainable Future), Hilary Inwood (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education), Catherine Mahler (Ministry of Education), Cameron Smith (Retired environmental columnist , Toronto Star).


EASO in conjunction with IRIS and Learning for a Sustainable Future (LSF) hosted a book launch and talk back with author Bob Willard on his latest publication, The Sustainability Champion’s Guidebook. Bob Willard is a leading sustainability expert, who has spoken to audiences far and wide on the business value of corporate sustainability strategies.
